Restoring world order keeps me busy
I've been staying busy in recent weeks trying to clean up and restore order to my websites.
On the content side I have enough ideas to keep me busy for awhile. My real world desk is full of notes and ideas, and my computer files contain text files of notes and downloaded articles that span more than 20 years.
Where things got bogged down a bit was my ambition to build websites as well as organize the content. I've slowing been bringing my old websites and content into the Drupal content management platform.
This weekend I have been organizing my online world by creating new portal sites with the intent of creating a way to navigate my online world. I created the portal to "the Guru 42 Universe" at Guru42.com. Since Questy's world is a parallel universe, as far as my websites are concerned, I've created a similar portal "the World of Questy" at Questy.com
Illustrating my universe in Drupal
With the older websites I want to focus on filling in some gaps, adding some content. This sites are using the Drupal 6 content management system and I have no plans to change the core Drupal code or update the Drupal themes at this time..
ComputerGuru.net -- One of the original core technology learning websites I did some behind the scenes additions as well as added some content to the Webmaster Site Designer section.
SmartTechnology.Info -- The focus of the smart technology website is to be used as a tool by small business people in IT decision making. I recently went through a bunch of material from my teaching days and edited a bit for freshness. There is a lot of new and updated content in the Managing your website section.
Adding a few new sites, I am adding them on in the newer Drupal 7 content management system.
From "the World of Questy" I've launched "It's Only Sports," a website that will look at various sports issues. As we do with other social and political issues, Questy's mission is to stretch your brain to see things in a different perspective.
AmericanPhilosopher.us, is a site I created a few years ago on the birth of our nation and the quest for justice, liberty, and virtue. It has been relaunched as a Drupal 7 website.
There is one more website in the works as well, SurvivalistPortal.com, a survival and emergency preparedness resource is coming soon!
Not bad for a part time webmaster, eh?
